For flexibility, some reviews can be done over the phone for patients who are stable on their treatments.

Held daily by appointment with the nurse and covers blood pressure checks, blood tests, dressings, suture removal, ear syringing etc. Nurse Specialist appointments are also available in some of these clinics for Chronic Disease management to allow flexibility for patients.
This clinic is run by a practice nurse in conjunction with a GP who specialises in diabetes. The clinic is used to offer advice, monitor progress and help patients in self-management of their disease. Our HCA's will carry out initial assessments and tests prior to your actual review with the nurse or doctor.
Trained nurses offer comprehensive advice and any necessary vaccinations to patients who intend to travel abroad. The clinics are held five times a week .Some of these vaccinations are chargeable and must be paid for on the date of administration. This practice is an officially designated centre for the administration of Yellow Fever vaccine. See the above tab for more details.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

UGR Patient Services is the newly created provider arm of the Upper Gordon Road Surgery. It was devised in order to enable the practice to continue providing community based commissioned services to the patients of Surrey Heath when our previous contracts with the CCG were terminated.
At the end of last year, we began a lengthy process to bid for the retention of the Physiotherapy, Pain and Orthopaedic contracts.
We were unfortunately not successful with the Physiotherapy contract but we are pleased to say that we managed to retain the Pain Contract and was awarded the new Advanced MSK & Diagnostic Service.
Patients who have used either service in the past will most probably not see any great difference but we hope that by putting both services under a single umbrella and maximising the services of our excellent admin team across both, we will be able to continue to provide the patients of Surrey Heath with the high standard of care they have been used to from us.
Chronic pain usually caused by long term back disorders but includes other debilitating disorders such as fibromyalgia afflicts about 20-25% of the population. We have had concerns that these patients are not getting the care that they need and together with Surrey Heath CCG, we piloted a Community Pain Clinic just over 18 months ago.
The big news from us is that we are no longer a 'Pilot' service and have succeeded in securing a 5 year contract with Surrey Heath CCG. We are in the midst of discussions with Frimley Park Hospital Pain clinic to see how we can work together to provide a joined up service between primary and secondary care. This is fantastic news as it means we now have all the advantages of the hospital services with access to their expertise and facilities without losing autonomy and our unique approach to managing Chronic Pain syndromes.
Our outcomes have been outstanding and far better than we could have anticipated, also with improvement scores being considerably higher than those recorded in the latest National Pain Clinics audit. There are particular niches where we have had particular success and that is with our fibromyalgia patients and in those referred earlier on in the pathway to chronicity.
Our Orthopaedic clinic (previously known as SHORTTS) has now ceased as the contract with the CCG has finished. However, we have recently bid for and been awarded the contract for a newly commissioned community Advanced MSK and Diagnostic Service. The acronym MSK for those who do not know, is an abbreviation for 'Musculoskeletal', a term which describes bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, or nerves of the body. The service will be run alongside but separate from the Community Pain Service.
There remains a gap in the hospital orthopaedic service that is felt could be provided in a community setting, and because of our experience with running SHORTTS for many years we jumped at the change of expanding this and providing the patients of Surrey Heath with more locally based extended diagnostic service.
This is an NHS service commissioned by the CCG and patients are seen at the Upper Gordon Road Surgery in the physiotherapy suit on the first floor extension at the front of the building. They will be seen by specialist doctors experienced and qualified in Sports and Exercise Medicine, many of whom worked with us in the previous service.
This is an advanced diagnostic service which may also provide treatment in the form of either ultrasound guided or non ultrasound guided injections which are outside the scope of many GP's or Physiotherapists.
Patients will often be assessed and treated at the same appointment.
An orthopaedic surgeon from Frimley Park Hospital holds joint clinics quarterly with the team and provides his expertise and support for the service.
Camberley Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic is housed on the first floor of the front extension at the Upper Gordon Road Surgery.
Access to the Physio Suite is via stairs to the right of the lift or by lift from the main entrance.
