2020 Flu FAQ

With winter fast approaching we know that flu is a worry for many of our patients.

This year it is more important than ever for those who are eligible* to safely have the free flu vaccination. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we must ensure that we follow social distancing and offer alternative methods to how we have historically delivered our flu clinics.

We are excited to announce that this year we will be offering our patients a drive through flu clinic. Conveniently located at Blackbushe Airport (Camberley, GU17 9LQ) the drive through clinic allows patients to be safely administered with the flu vaccine in the comfort of their own car. A map and instructions are included in the Booking Confirmation PDF at the bottom of this page.

The drive through clinic will be operating from Monday, 21st September for a seven week period, however our allocated clinics are on 21st, 22nd and 30th September and 21st and 22nd October. The clinic will run between the hours of 8:30am and 7:30pm.  Dependent on patient demand and supply, we may extend the clinic and open it to 50-64 year olds after the initial seven week period.

We are encouraging families and neighbours to car share wherever possible, while ensuring to adhere to social distancing. To book multiple people into the same time slot, please call us to arrange.

While we encourage all patients to either drive or be driven to our drive-through clinic, we understand that this may not be possible in some cases. Please call us to discuss your circumstances and we will ensure that you will have access to a flu vaccination.

Please note that, if you are aged between 50 and 64 and not in a clinical at risk group, the earliest you will be offered a flu vaccination is November, providing there is sufficient vaccine. No appointments will be offered for people in this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are aged 50 to 64 and are in a clinical ‘at risk’ group which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
